Abstract: Abstract : There are too many problems of Gorontalo people story, for example the problem of characterization. This is because of the role of the characterst in that story. They provide meanings for the readers of literature, at least in providing the worth values of the story. Therefor, this research was aimed at describing some educational values given by main character and minor character based on the episode. This research was very importain for documenting the oral literature of gorontalo as a reference for national culture. This document is veryrequired for overcoming the lower of the interest of people to generate the story as a part of local cultural. In this case every episode of the story, there were some psychologicalaspects as educational value performed by main character (lahilote) for the readers of the story. In this story, it has been expressed that lahilote was as manusia bumi (the human beigh of earth) or as manusia bawah (lower class of human beight), who had high idea, that was wants to wed with putri bangsawan (a girl of the king (high class)). However to reach this idea, lahilote must do some requirements given by father of the girl. In this research, it was said there were two personal characteristics that owned by lahilote, namely (a) the attitude to hard work and responsibility and (b) endurance, patience, and persistence to face all challeges. These two personal characteristics arose because of tthe following things (a) the conditional of lahilote family comes from the poor family (a farmer, fish-man, and hunter)(and (b) the original willing of the main character to own a petty wife
